IRIS Certification

The International Railway Industry Standard (IRIS) is an internationally recognised management system standard specific to the railway industry. It is based on the ISO 9001 structure, but stipulates additional, railway specific requirements for business management systems. IRIS is an initiative led by the Association of
European Railway Industries (UNIFE). Equipment manufacturers applying for an IRIS Certificate must obtain it from an independent certification body.

EN 50155

An international standard covering electronic equipment used on rolling stock for railway applications. The standard covers aspects of this electronic equipment, including temperature, humidity, shock, vibration, and other parameters.

The standard does not involve a certificate or compel compliance; rather this standardisation classifies operating conditions in railway vehicles so they are consistently comprehensible and comparable.

NPFA 130

The standard for fixed guideway transit and Passenger Rail Systems. This standard specifies fire protection and life safety requirements for underground, surface and elevated fixed guideway transit and Passenger Rail Systems.

Reducing Fire Hazard (EN45545)

EN45545 – What subjects will the new standards cover?
EN45545 is the most comprehensive set of fire safety standards ever developed. There will be 7 parts to the Standard but only Parts 1 and 2 will be applicable to conduit systems:

Part 1: General definitions, operation and design categories, and the safety objectives.
Part 2: Reaction to fire performance requirements of products. This new standard will harmonise the requirements for fire safety on railway vehicles that operate within Europe.

What fire properties will be required for European rail products?

EN 45545-2 is the part of the existing series EN 45545-1 to -7 for testing materials. National standards are still valid and allowed for specification until March 2016. Afterwards EN45545-x:2013 has to be used (where specified in the TSIs). Customers can require additional standards like London Underground engineering standard.

The classification system defined in EN 45545-2 specific requirements for the fire behaviour of materials and products used in rolling stocks.

High Voltage Safety Lock (HVSL) Connectors And Receptacle Connectors

High Voltage Safety Lock (HVSL) Connectors & Receptacle Connectors are designed for electrical vehicle (EV) batteries, chargers, inverters, power distribution boxes, and related applications feature up to 1000V voltage, up to 330A operating current, and a -40oC to +125oC operating
temperature range. HVSL connectors provide a 2.8 to 10mm RADSOK contact and IP67 / IP67K sealing. The series includes secondary locking and external or internal HVIL. Applications include EV batteries, chargers, inverters, junction boxes, and power distribution boxes.

HVBI Panel Connectors

HVBI panel connectors are specially designed for high-quality, high voltage power EV & Energy Storage with a convenient push-pull locking system that makes it easy to operate. The robust IP67 rated rugged metal shell ensures excellent electromagnetism shielding. A wide range of contact sizes and multiple coding positions are both available. It is designed for wire ranges up to 70mm2, rated currents of max 250 A, and durability of 200 mating cycles.
